
University of Technology and Applied Sciences
The University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) is a higher education institution with 11 branches strategically spread across the Sultanate of Oman. In accordance with Royal Decree No. 76/2020, the university became the largest higher education institution in the Sultanate of Oman by merging the Colleges of Technology, the Colleges of Applied Sciences, and the College of Education in Rustaq. Oman Vision 2040 propels this merger, emphasizing the National Education Strategy 2040, the Scientific Research Strategy, and the Innovation Strategy. To keep pace with modern challenges, priorities, and needs.
The university currently has approximately 50,000 students in diploma, advanced diploma, and bachelor’s programs in various disciplines, including pharmacy, engineering, applied sciences, business studies, information technology, photography, fashion design, education, applied biotechnology, mass communication studies, international business management, and design. This expansion has made the university the largest in the Sultanate of Oman.
The university strives to enrich the learning experience for students by closely engaging them in high-quality, student-centered learning, stimulating training, and applied research. At UTAS, we strive to make every effort to provide great support to our students throughout their studies, not only until they graduate, but also for the long period towards their professional destinations, as we are also concerned about the professional growth of graduates.
